The Avengers : A Must Watch
Something so epic has never happened before in the history of Action Cinema.
Ecstatic
Charismatic
Mind boggling
Heroic
A new era of movies is born! A marvel from Marvel Comics! The Epic story of how the heroes of the Earth unite to fight for freedom! The heroic drama of the birth of THE AVENGERS is here!
“ And there came a day, a day unlike any other... when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat... to fight the foes no single superhero could withstand... on that day, The Avengers were born.”
Director Joss Whedon brings out a remarkably scripted action adventure. I will not share the plot because you need to go and see it for yourself for, it is wonderfully mastered. Throughout the movie you don’t seem to lose focus of what is happening. Each second has something to offer. The only moment you hate is the five minute interval! From the start you can see the actors putting in their best, be it Cobie Smulders or Clark Gregg, all have offered their best in their received footage and all of them leave a mark!
The screenplay is rock solid. It enraptures you all throughout the movie with assistance of brilliant direction and special effects. The story by Zak Penn and Whedon brings out a fantastic comic strip feeling. You feel you are visually going through the story and living every moment of it.
The comic timing is perfect ; there are scenes where generally humor or wit would fall out but it is genuinely mastered here so much so that you laugh at the witty humor yet feel the magic of the action going on.
The quantity and quality of emotional drama is exact. Not once in the movie do you feel clogged by sadness or tears.
The music score by Alan Silvestri adds to the enigma. The themes at the gathering of The Avengers, them walking down the battle together, music at the climax just bring out the child in you. You gaze your eyes wide open, goose bumps on your skin, cheeks held in hand and look mesmerized at Heavenly Warriors protecting the Mother Planet and saving the day.
Hat’s off!
NOTE
Everything happening in the movie at an instant will lead to something happening at the other! The realization of that is charismatic.
I would mention some personal winners for me in the top-billed cast:
Robert Downey Junior
Jr. as Iron Man is breathtaking once again. Be it on the wit, on the genius, on the action; He does it all. Preserving most of the screen time, Downey Jr. comes off with flying metallic colors and his crisp one-liners are new and tasty…!!
Steve Rogers: Stark, we need a plan of attack!
Tony Stark: I have a plan: attack!
Samuel L. Jackson
The perfect leadership he could have offered! Experience speaks and amongst the superheroes there comes no point when you forget him. Full score to him.
Mark Ruffalo
This man has made me love Hulk! As a super hero fanatic I did not like hulk but Ruffalo’s acting has infused me with regards for the character.
Silent, composed, clasped fists and a genius … perfectly done by him. At one point in the movie the crowd goes like Hulk! Hulk! Hulk!
The screenplay written for hulk entirely brings a change in persona and generates empathy and love for the big green man! Beautifully directed… The Hulk and Ruffalo give you some pleasant surprises in the movie.
Scarlett Johansson
A perfect choice for The Black Widow. She shares a fair share of screen time and delivers a fantastic job. Witty quotes and fast action sequences along with her noteworthy acting make her presence felt. She adds a glamorous feel to the Squad and takes on the role perfectly. A pleasure to watch.
The Black Widow: Now is a good time to get angry
Eric Bana(shifting into Hulk): That’s my secret! I am Always angry
Clark Gregg
As Agent Phil Coulson, his role is not profound but he connects with you well in his short reign.
Jeremy Renner
Renner is a pleasure to watch as Hawkeye, though for the first half you feel sad about him (Not for the craft, for other reasons… that is a movie suspense!). His feel of the character, as a perfect archer with the sheer presence of mind , on the watch anytime appeals to the audience!
Tom Hiddleton
Hiddleton plays fairly as Loki. I thought he was too lanky a villain to face several heroes but I was pleasantly surprised by the way he carried himself throughout the movie. All in all, he becomes the perfect evil soul and you feel like the Avengers plundering him. Great Job.
Chris Evans appeals with his patriotic lineage. Hemsworth delivers the powerful and royal role demanded as Thor, the demigod perfectly.
Captain America after briefing everyone: Hulk! SMASH!
A special mention to the SFX department
The job couldn’t be done more brilliantly and perfectly.
Some effects have never been seen before and you feel the floor sweep off your feet. At some moments you are bound to spill your coke!
A bow in respect to the SFX crew!
